The post height is an important factor when setting rivets to your project
It is good practise to allow media thickness plus at least 1mm for the post to crimp when determining the rivet post height otherwise the post will skew when set.

Note:
It is possible to interchange posts and caps,
For example: you can use shorted posts on larger caps
Within reason,
I usually just hammer these together flat to hold tighter,
or there are setters available –
Hammering these together without a setter is fine, although the caps will flatten but they will hold together,
Using the correct sized setter keeps the rounded shape.
