Description
Flex frames, made from sprung steel, are a light weight, flexible open-close mechanism for small purses, glasses cases, key cases.
The flex frames are a blue black colour with antique brass hinge style fittings on each end and comes with a circlip in one end.
The other is fitted after the flex frame is in place to close the frame and
the spring action will work when squeezed, it’s easier once it’s in the purse or bag.
When the ends are squeezed together it springs
open to pop in or release keys, phone or whatever is in them,
An internal flex frame is easy to fit,
Stitch your case, purse or bag around the edge up to approximately 30-40cm from the top.
Then fold and stitch a hem approximately 18mm to 20mm along the top, on each side.
Turn inside out. Slip the open ends flex frame through the hemmed section, one each side.
Once frame is in place, put both brass ends together and
From the bottom, so the circle of the circlip will sit inside the bag
push the ends of the circlip through holes of the brass ends.
Then trim the end of the circlip and fold the circular lug over the end to close it
This closes the flex frame and forms a hinge, Now you have a closed, snap opening, sprung metal frame with the pin secured.
