Description
Flex frames, made from sprung steel, are a light weight, flexible open-close mechanism for small purses, glasses cases, key cases.
The flex frames are a blue black colour with silver hinge on the new 100mm and 120mm flex frames, and antique brass hinge style fittings on the 85mm flex frame, and come with a pin in one end. The other pin is loose
The other is fitted after the flex frame is in place to close the frame and the spring action will work when squeezed, it’s easier once it’s in the purse or bag.
Stitch your case, purse or bag with a folded hem approximately 18mm to 20mm around the top, sides are stitched together and seams turned inward. Slip the open flex frame (with the little lug on the topside) into the hemmed section. Both sides will slide in easily together. Once frame is in place, put both ends together and slip the pin into holes of the both open ends. This forms a hinge, then fold the little lug over the pin so it can’t fall out, to close the loop, Now you have a closed, snap opening, sprung metal frame with pins to hold in place
Each flex frame metal caps with steel pins holding them together
