Description

Note: snap fastener dies are different to press stud dies.
A snap fastener (also known as a press stud, popper, snap or tich)
Is a pair of interlocking discs, which snap together when pressed under force.
These are used on fabric, leather or vinyl, attached with a hand setter or die (hand press machine setter).
Each press stud has 2 parts to each side, the female parts are usually on the side of the article that will be seen, the flap or side that opens,
The snap cap (the outside, often the decorative part) and the socket is attached to the cap through the leather or fabric.
The male parts are usually under the flap or opening, on the under side, not normally visible.
The stud-fits into the socket to give the snap, and is held in place through the fabric or leather with the base post.

Both the male and the female snap fastener setters (also known as dies) have 2 parts each.
The biggest parts have a 19mm diameter shaft that slips into the base hole of the hand press machine,
one to hold the snap cap, and the other to hold the base post until set – holding the stud in place.
and the 2 threaded setter-dies easily screw into the threaded upper arm of the hand press machine,
and by pressing the handle down, this rolls the snap cap post over inside the socket,
holding it securely in place, and the other compresses the stud over the base post

It is very quick and easy to interchange between styles of setters and the sizes.

Hardest part of using these tools is being organized
And keeping parts in a spot easy to find for next time

Virtually no maintenance apart from maybe a light wipe over with light machine oil.
